In Fairview, some utilities are provided directly by the City (water, wastewater, stormwater) and other utility services are provided by other companies (electricity, natural gas, telephone). There is a small area of Fairview that is provided water services through Rockwood Water Public Utility.

In 2011, the combined minimum utility bill for an average, single family home in Fairview is $56.41 (water, sewer, and stormwater). City of Fairview customers who utilize only the City's sewer services are billed on a bi-monthly basis and the average bill is $63.16.  Non-residential customer bills are calculated using an outside user rate.
